Hello to My Astro Site
4/2/2026
After running my Hugo site for nearly 5 years, I’m excited to introduce this brand new Astro site! This migration has been a fun journey, and I’m thrilled with the results.

How It Was Built
This site was created using vibe coding — a creative approach to building where AI assistance plays a significant role in the development process. Specifically, I worked with Opencode Big Pickle to bring this vision to life. It was a collaborative experience that felt less like traditional coding and more like having a creative partner helping me think through design decisions and implementation.
What’s New
The new site is built with Astro, a modern static site generator that offers:
- Component-based architecture — Building with reusable components makes the codebase clean and maintainable
- Tailwind CSS + DaisyUI — For styling, with a beautiful dark theme that switches based on your system preference
- Pagefind — Integrated search functionality so you can easily find content
- RSS Feed — Stay updated with my latest posts
The Design
This site uses the Stargarden theme — a clean, minimal design that puts content first while still looking professional. The dark mode is especially nice for late-night browsing!
What’s Coming
This isn’t just a fancy new CV anymore. I plan to use this space to share what I’ve been working on, from time to time. Whether it’s research updates, side projects, or random musings, you’ll find more personal content here beyond the traditional academic portfolio.

Here’s to new beginnings! 🚀
